Are Mafia Wars Skill Points Useless?

There is one key component to improving your character in the game Mafia Wars and that is skill points. These points are one of the most important aspects of the game in order to help you improve your character, finish the different jobs and advance through the game.

There are a few existing ways to obtain Mafia Wars skill points. You are able to complete jobs, level up and get them through exchange of reward points. When you complete a job level, you get a skill point. Each time you level up you normally get five skill points and you can buy skill points by exchanging reward points.

Reward points can be obtained through a variety of methods including cash purchase. However, it is not necessary to purchase reward points in order to get skill points or play the game. Skill points are obtained through the natural development of the game.

Several areas are available for skill points to be used. These are attack, defense, health, energy, stamina and the new influence attribute. Available Attributes

Influence, attack, defense, stamina, energy and health are the attributes you are able to use your skill points. Your strength in a fight is based on your attack level. How much damage you get, if any at all, is determined by your defense. Stamina is used to determine how often you can attack other players and having a higher health level will help you survive more attacks against you. You are able to shake down more rackets at a time if you boost your influence.

Attack

How strong your are is influenced not only by your own attack level but also by the total attack level of your Mafia gang and the items that you have in your inventory (the item with the best defense will be chosen by the game). For each skill point you use you get one attack point.

Defense

Just like your attack attribute, your overall defense level is determined by a number of things including your individual attack level, the strength of your Mafia gang and items you have. You can boost your defense faster in the Mafia game by getting good items. Each skill point used will boost your defense by one level.

Health

Your health level comes into play for boss fights, work as a hit man and fighting other players. Just like attack and defense, this attribute is increased on a one to one basis.

Stamina

Your stamina level is improved at a ratio of 2 to 1. Two skill points are necessary in order to increase your stamina level by one point. The amount of time you are able to attack other players is determined by your stamina level.

Energy

Energy is the primary attribute of the game. It allows the player to do jobs and the more energy you have the more jobs you can perform at a given time increasing your speed of advancement. These attribute is also in a 1:1 ratio.

What is this Influence attribute?

The amount of influence you have directly effects how many rackets you can run. In order to shake down those rackets you need influence. This is another attribute that increases in a ratio of one to one.
