What Are Some Of The Wii Fit Advantages?

From all accounts, Nintendo’s Wii Fit is fun, but are there other advantages? Does it actually give a workout? Is it worth the cost? Is it to hard or too easy? Is it complicated to set up? Let us take a look at some of the Wii Fit advantages.

One of the main advantages of this video game is that it can be used by the entire family, but the data, such as weight and progress, can be password protected so prying eyes will not be able to see what you do not want them to see. Unlike watching someone lift weights, which can be pretty tedious, the Wii Fit makes it fun to watch other people exercising/playing each of the 40 different activities in one of three difficulty levels. Family togetherness is one advantage that it has over other exercise programs.

The Wii Fit is much less expensive than a gym membership. Where a gym membership may cost upwards of $60 per month, the cost of the video game is under $200, which is a one-time payment. That is quite a big savings over a gym membership.

People today tend to be pressed for time. Trips to the gym, if you do have a membership, can easily be neglected for lack of time. Not so with the Wii Fit. Since the only commute is to your living room or den, you can use it whenever you have spare minutes. All of the routines are less than an hour.

On a regular fitness program it is so tempting to play with the scale to make sure you get the right reading. You cannot do this when using this video game. Every day when you step on the balance board it automatically calculates your weight and body mass index (BMI). No more having to write down what routine you did or your weight.

Prior to beginning the exercises, each player creates a Mii character that will represent him or her. When moves are made on the balance board, the Mii does the same moves in the game. The graphics are completely un intimidating, the instructions are very easy to understand. Each person starts at just the right level to be challenging but not so difficult to cause frustration.

Another advantage of the Wii Fit is that it is super simple to set up. Essentially it is a plug-and-play video game. If you already own the Wii, which you will need to play the games, pop the CD into it, plug in your balance board and go.

While the Wii Fit advantages are plentiful for someone who is just getting into a fitness habit, it will not take the place of a gym or other strenuous exercise routine for those already in good shape. But, even for those people, it is still a lot of fun to play with and definitely worth the investment.

Arthur Rofield is a great fan of Wii Fit ever since they were release. His particular interest lie in how Nintendo Wii Console is used as a modern day medium to bring distant family and relationships together
